Summer Lunch Program Begins

Begins: 6/1/2026 - 11:30AM
Ends: 8/14/2026 - 12:30PM

The Salvation Army of Newark and the Village of Buckeye Lake present the 2026 Summer Lunch Program!

Kids up to 18 years of age can join us at the Recreation Center (118 Third Street) starting at 11:30am until 12:30pm on June 1st to receive a free lunch, sponsored by the Salvation Army of Newark!
The program will include various crafts and activities during the lunch hour, along with some special days with programs from Y on the Fly, the Licking County Mobile Library, and more!
On various hot days, bring a towel and extra clothes as the Buckeye Lake Fire Department could be spraying the water hose to cool everyone off!

Please plan to stay and eat at the site!

The program runs tentatively through August 14th, with NO LUNCHES SERVED on June 19th or July 3rd.

Buckeye Lake Region America 250 Patriotic Decorating Contest

The Village of Buckeye Lake is proud to be a part of the Buckeye Lake Region America 250 Patriotic Decorating Contest!

Residents and businesses in Buckeye Lake, Hebron, Millersport, and Thornville/Thornport are invited to take part in the Patriotic Decorating Contest and show off your red, white, and blue spirit! From homes and storefronts, to porches, yards, and windows—help the Buckeye Lake Region shine with patriotic pride this season.

Whether your display is classic and elegant or bold and over-the-top, this is your chance to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in a fun, community-wide way!

Prizes include:

• $50 prize for one residential winner and one business winner in each community

• $250 Regional Residential Grand Prize (sponsored by Jim Ward, Edward Jones Financial Advisor)

• $250 Regional Business Grand Prize (sponsored by the Buckeye Lake Region Chamber of Commerce)

Registration Open Through: July 4th

Voting Runs: July 4th through July 12th

Participants are encouraged to stop by their local village office or the Escape To Buckeye Lake Welcome Center to pick up a voting flyer to display at their home or business.

Buckeye Lake Village Welcomes the Official IHRA Triple Crown Street Party!

JUST ANNOUNCED: Buckeye Lake Village welcomes the Official IHRA Triple Crown Street Party!

Join us Thursday, June 18, beginning at 6:30 PM for the Official IHRA Triple Crown Street Party in Buckeye Lake Village. Meet some of the biggest names in drag racing during a driver autograph session from 7:30–8:30 PM, take your picture with the trophies, check out race cars displayed throughout the Village, visit sponsor tents and displays, enjoy live music, great food, and experience the energy of race weekend before the action begins at Darana Raceway.

Licking County Humane Society's Bright Spot Clinic | Buckeye Lake

A wonderful FREE veterinary wellness service coming to the Recreation Center on June 20th; please see the event page for all of the details!

Saturday, June 20th, #LCHSpets will be at the Buckeye Lake Recreation Center and providing free veterinary wellness care for dogs and cats belonging to unhoused neighbors and income-qualified families.

Ohio Free Fishing Days 2026

OHIO FREE FISHING DAYS

On June 20 and 21, 2026, all Ohio residents are invited to experience Ohio's fantastic public fishing opportunities, including our very own Buckeye Lake, without purchasing a license.

All size and daily limits apply during these two days, per ODNR.
