Movement of the Historic Log Cabin - EXPECT TRAFFIC DELAYS
Begins: 3/6/2026 - 8:00AM
Ends: 3/6/2026 - 4:00PM
THE MOVEMENT OF THE HISTORIC LOG CABIN HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO FRIDAY MARCH 6TH BEGINNING AT 8:30AM DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. PLEASE PLAN YOUR TRAVEL THROUGH THE VILLAGE ACCORDINGLY FOR THAT DAY.
The Village of Buckeye Lake will be moving the Historic Holtsberry Log Cabin from its current address at 4729 Walnut Rd to its new location at 10500 Mill Dam Rd. Starting at 8:00 a.m. and continuing until approximately 2:00 p.m. Traffic patterns along the route will be changed during this period.
- Phase 1-Walnut Rd Section - traffic will be stopped using a rolling stop behind moving cabin and stopped at certain points in front of cabin. Several points along Walnut Road, law enforcement will be able to stop the cabin and direct traffic around the load to relieve back up traffic.
- Phase 2 - Hebron Rd Section (4 Lane Blvd.) - - traffic will be stopped using a rolling stop behind moving cabin. Several points along Hebron, law enforcement will be able to stop the cabin and direct traffic around the load to relieve back up traffic.
- Phase 3 – Mill Dam Intersection - when the Cabin reaches the traffic light at Mill Dam Rd. crews will set up a traffic pattern and will be directing traffic thru the intersection with law enforcement and flaggers. Mill Dam will be closed to all West Bound Traffic.
During the turn at Milldam Rd, please expect delays for an extended period as it is anticipated that will be the slowest section of the move.
It is our hope that the move will be completed by mid afternoon and not interfere with school bus routes. Lakewood Transportation is aware of our time line and we will be in contact throughout the day with them.
If you have any questions or wish for further information, please reach out to me.
Thank you,
