Buckeye Lake Pavilion

Buckeye Lake Pavilion

Weather permitting, within a few weeks we will begin construction on the foundation, electrical and structure for a 26’ x 50’ Oak Timber Framed Pavilion which will be located at the water tower site.  Please refer to the proposed overall site plan for that property located on Mill Dam Road at the three-way stop.  The site plan is fluid and will include a Veteran’s Memorial, green space, parking, restrooms and possibly future municipal buildings.

Funding for this project was first announced in May of 2017.  The State of Ohio provided $125,000 in funding for a “Streetscape Project” for both the Village of Millersport and the Village of Buckeye.   This decision was related to the impact on our local economy as a result of ODNR’s three-year dam project.  The projects were to be managed by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC).  The requirements included a 50% match.  We were able to use the value of our property as the match.  Another requirement was that the project had to have a cultural or historical element.   Several years ago, Millersport constructed a very nice park area with a gazebo.   We’ve considered many projects over the last few years but this was the only one that met the criteria of OFCC.

We look forward to many fine events held at our new Grand Pavilion!
